Privacy, in plain language
You are trusting us with something tender. Here is exactly what happens to it.
What we hold
The photos you upload, any voice recording you upload, the notes you write about the person, and your conversations. Nothing else.
Who can see it
Only you, from your signed-in account. Photos and recordings live in private storage that requires your session to open. We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it to train public AI models.
Consent for a voice
Before matching a voice from a recording, you confirm that you have the right to use it — that the recording is of your own loved one, and that you are not impersonating a living person. Voice matching is refused without that confirmation.
What the AI will never do
It will never claim to be alive, to be the actual person, to be watching over you, or to carry messages from an afterlife. It will not tell you what they 'would have wanted' to push you toward a decision, and it will not give medical, legal or financial instructions.
If a conversation turns dark
If you write something suggesting you might harm yourself, the app steps gently out of character, tells you plainly that it is a program, and points you to real crisis lines. It will never roleplay reunion, joining them, or the afterlife.
Taking it with you
You can export any conversation as a plain text file at any time. Nothing you write is locked in.
Deleting it
Deleting a presence removes its conversation, memories, photos and voice sample. Deleting your account removes everything, permanently, with no recovery.
Grief is not a medical service
Keep Talking is a remembrance tool, not therapy, counselling or medical care. If grief is making daily life hard, please talk to a person — a doctor, a grief counsellor, or one of the lines on our support page.
